There have been incidents reported in the past and recently where people act on tarot readings aggressively.
“Don’t push too much pressure on yourself. Just go in it with fun sense, if you taking it too seriously and you are hoping for something and you are wanting somebody to give you direction but by the end of the day, you make the decision and then you are the charge of your life. And nobody is the in-charge of your life. And that’s why they are always like disclaimer, entertainment purposes.” Says Patience Mitchell, a business student at Fanshawe college.
“Life changing experience”
While sharing her story with XFM, Mitchell said, she went for her first psychic reading at the age of 19 and it turn out to be a life changing experience for her, as she met a guy, the psychic mentioned and now she is happily married to him with three kids.
“ I was at York university and that year my cousin brought me to a physic and they were like you are going to meet this guy, he is coming from Italy and his name starts with a T, you are going to move to Italy with him and you are going to go to school there and so that year I spend that year looking for this guy in my school. I looked and I looked. Everybody I met I was like oh, but noting never happened.” Mitchell said.
She says, nobody really knows for sure what time in life the things would happen so, psychic reading should be taken with a grain of salt in terms of timing.
“And then when I was 21, I took a year off form my York. And I found this part time job downtown Toronto selling insurance and then I met some friends and I had this Russian friend Alicia and we made friends and we were talking and I met this guy named Tristen. I didn’t think anything of it. I was just like ok and then we starting dating but then I found that his name starts with a T and then that summer that I met him. And then he was coming from Italy. I moved to Chattem where he is from and that’s where I started my life with the kids and we ended up getting married and now we have 3 kids and now we opened our first business.” She says.
“Going with an open mind is the key.”
“We are a really stressed community and world where a lot of people don’t really seem to be into religion anymore but are seeking out other kinds of health and wellness and peace of mind. Many people are attracted to tarot and card readings.” Says Rokhsana Srvian, owner of Purdy naturals in London.
They store has a wide range of positive energy products ranging from shampoos, candles, skin care products to tarot cards.
Sarvian says she personally believes in tarot card readings but she goes with an open mind.
” I go once a year and I get my reading done because it just makes me feel like I am in the right direction. I guess it’s just how the person interpreting. I mean the reader might not have said something like that and they just assumed or read into that, that way and then made a very stupid decision. But I mean you have to go in with an open mind.” Sarvian says.
“Tarot makes you start listening to your own intuition.”
“When you go get a reading, the reader is taking information from your guides through the cards which is kind of crazy sounding but is true. So, generally after reading you leave from there. You suddenly feel like you need to listen to your intuition. So, that’s generally what readings do.” Sarvian said.
She says when someone goes to a reader, they have their own internal voices in the head. These voices direct and help with the choices.
“It’s you talking to yourself. But it’s your guides.” She said.
Who is a guide?
“So, if you just listen to the voice in your head that’s pushing you to do something, it might be holding you back that’s generally your guides.” Sarvian said.
Sarvian adds “People should not be abusive or aggressive about the reading when they don’t turn out in their favor.”
