The City of London has launched an email and phone line for citizens to report concerns of others not following COVID-19 health guidelines. The move is a joint project between the city, the London Police Service, and the Middlesex-London Health Unit.
The agencies have all received calls about concerns of individuals and businesses violating provincial and municipal orders of closure and gatherings. They say establishing this email address and phone number provides a single point of contact which will help ease the demands on other community phone lines, including the Middlesex-London Health Unit and 9-1-1.
“Everyone has the responsibility to follow all of the orders that have been issued by governments, and to take every precaution possible to slow the spread of COVID-19,” says Dave O’Brien, Division Manager, Corporate Security and Emergency Management, City of London.
The mayor is promoting the use of the new lines from his self-isolation.

Steve Williams the Chief of the London Police Service urges people to use this new method to report any COVID-19 related concerns. “This will ensure that our 9-1-1 lines are free for emergencies.”
Emails and calls that can be managed through this process include concerns about:
- non-essential businesses that are not closed,
- activities taking place at closed outdoor structures including playgrounds,
- multi-use courts and skate parks,
- residents that are gathering in large groups,
- and individuals who are not following Federal quarantine orders.
The email COVIDOrderConcerns@london.ca will be monitored 24/7. The phone line (519-661-4660) will be monitored between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
