According to London Police, A London woman is in custody after an acquaintance was stabbed early yesterday evening.
On Monday around 5:00 p.m., police say two women were on Elizabeth Street, just north of Dundas, when they began to argue with each other. During the argument, police say one of the women stabbed the other with a folding knife she had in her possession. The victim, who is 23-years-old, sustained a serious injury and citizens attempted to help her.
Police say then officers passing by the area was flagged down by bystanders, and police applied a tourniquet to slow the bleeding. Paramedic services were called to transport the victim with a life-threatening injury.
At around 5:30, police say the suspect was hiding in bushes nearby. When police located her, [police say she got on a bicycle and attempted to flee the area. Police then stopped her and arrested her.
The victim remains in hospital and is in fair condition.
As of the result, 26-year-old, Alandrea Griffith, has been charged with aggravated assault. She is still in custody, and is scheduled to appear in a London court today.
