
Fanshawe College has implemented a Covid-19 Vaccination policy which will be effective from midnight November 6th.. The policy requires employees, students, visitors and contractors who come to any Fanshawe campus to be fully vaccinated, which means they must have received their second dose of the vaccine at least 14 days prior to November 5th.
Fanshawe College is working with Synergy Gateway to verify vaccination status of students and staff.
Manager of Environment, Health, Safety and Emergency Operations at Fanshawe, Andre King said, “We are validating staff and students through Synergy Gateway, all staff should have been provided login information to provide their vaccination status in advance, so that they can be validated as fully vaccinated.”
People with medical exemption will need to get their exemptions authorized and will also require a negative Covid-19 test every 72 hours to enter any Fanshawe campus after November 5th.
Andrew also says that the college has not experienced any resistance against the policy and that “trying to coordinate consistent and clear communication to thousands of staff, students and contractors when that information is constantly changing,” has been his most significant challenge regarding the vaccination policy.
