NFT’s have started to skyrocket especially in the sports world. The UFC has now started UFC moments with their NFT’s and they just came out with their first ever NFT drop which was sold out in less than a day. There is not quite a marketplace up and running yet but it will be up shortly, I’m assuming after this next drop which is coming this week. Andrew Benedict had purchased some of the UFC NFT’s and he shared his prediction of the selling price when the market place opens, “I think based on other NFT’s I’ve bought, the least amount these cards will sell for would be around the pack cost ($50) but some cards will sell up to five times that amount”.
It is totally up in the air as of now on the selling prices as none of these NFT’s have been sold yet. Based on knowledge that has been shared with me since they’ve never been sold before, the market value is all in the seller’s hands. The drop completely sold out in less than a day which should be good for the value of these moments.
With over 50 thousand people on the website at release date time the website did in fact crash and put everyone in the queue on pause for 45 minutes causing frustration for many buyers. It was believed there were to many bugs on the site at once and too many people spamming the buy button that was the cause of the crash. although 45 minute doesn’t sound bad, once you got out of the pause you were back in the queue for roughly an hour per each pack you wanted to purchase.
NFT’s are worrying people about the economy in our world today since it’s such a new thing. Benedict believes NFT’s will in fact change the economy in the future as other companies like shoe brands and clothing wear which are now collective items selling for crazy amounts of money, could be the exact same idea for these NFT’s
With the upcoming drop getting these UFC fans excited and evolved they are ready to purchase more of these packs. As of now it will be held in the same format as the last one consisting of very few champion moments and the rest being common cards.
In conclusion the marketplace value of these NFT’s are still up in the air but it sounds like they are going to be worth it in the long run. Also some more recent news UFC is giving everyone money who bought these packs the first release date matching what they paid, so no matter what the buyers will be making a profit.
