London police have launched an investigation after a man with suspected stab wounds has died. Marking the city’s first homicide of 2022.
Police were called into the area of Springbank Drive and Wharncliffe Road South around 11:45 a.m. on Monday after a man sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died.
The LPS Major Crime Section has taken charge of the investigation, with assistance from other members of the London Police Service, including the Forensic Identification Section. Officers remained at the scene for several hours into Monday evening.
The man’s identity has not been released. No arrests have been made.
There were 13 homicides in London in 2021, the second-highest record the city has seen in the past three decades.
