The London Fire Department responded to a fire at the Ark Aid Street Mission on Dundas St East last night at roughly 6p.m. According to an employee at Ark Aid, the fire was isolated to the outside of the building. Ark Aid was unable to make any further comments as the fire is still under investigation by the London Police.
According to London Fire the estimated damage is around $50,000.
After the fire was contained, Ark Aid posted an update on their Facebook page
“Ark Aid Street Mission has suffered a terrible incident of fire at our 696 Dundas St. primary building. The entire rear of the building including our storage shed, stairwell and areas leading into our kitchen and our transitional apartment have been effected.
We are incredibly thankful for the first responders- particularly the fire fighters that attended and resolved the fire efficiently and with no injuries or people effected.”
Ark Aid is currently closed to the public as they are undergoing renovations.
