A 13 year old holiday tradition that started as Scott Mcaskill’s project to bring a smile to his kids is now an annual event that brings entertainment and smiles to the neighborhood of Oakridge in London. On another gloomy and wet Halloween evening Scott completed his 13th straight year of his stunning holiday display.
Scott started this display in 2009 as a project that has grown over the years and has now taken over 2 properties.
He says his motivation has been seeing kids that had seen the inaugural version of his display who are now 13 years older come back for a piece of nostalgia and the kids of today seeing it for the first time.
The display is a “multi-holiday” project that starts in late September and decorated for Halloween with a three to four day time slot to transition over to Christmas with the “lighting of the lights” expected for December 1st.
At the end of Christmas its about a three week cleanup with it starting all over again the following September.
Scott plans to continue the display for another year but hasn’t committed to saying next year is the last dance.
