To get more children involved with the Sicences at an early age, London Children’s Museum has been running a new program.
“The program is a lot of fun!” Said Anson who was there with his siblings and mom Jen.
With the hope of sparking children’s interest in science at an early age, using hands-on activities and experiments.
STEAM which Ammar Alzureiqi, the science outreach facilitator who’s helped run the program explains that it stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math,
“It’s been an amazing experience to be able to introduce children to these concepts at a young age, so they can be more open to them in the future” Explained Ammar, who’s been a part of the program since its start last March.
Experiments they’ve done throughout the program included using hydraulics kits, making electric circuits, and kids making their own balloon-powered cars.
He’s helped to run the experiments while working with the kids involved with the program, as he’s enjoyed being able to work with the kids.
“I’ve loved working with children, it’s been great introducing new concepts to them over the past couple of weeks.” He spoke.
“My ideal situations are when I’m teaching children, it’s mainly just to do it through actually doing activities with them, it’s a lot of fun” as Ammar hopes to continue the program into next year.
As the program finishes up its eighth and final week next week, program coordinators hope to be able to raise more funds more the project to continue into the next year.
“All our funding is donation base and we appreciate those who have donated to us, we’d love to do this again,’ Ammar said.
