With Remembrance Day just around the corner, 312 Victory, a London branch of the Royal Canadian Legion has been collecting donations for poppies to remember and recognize those who fought for our country.
The Legion has many organizations assisting them including “Young and Old Cadets who brought in over 5000 (Dollars) with more coming in” says Nellie Stevens a long time member of 312 Victory.
The Legion also does their part in bringing awareness of remembrance day and the tradition of wearing a poppy to new Canadians.
“We have relationships with the mosque and schools at this legion and we make sure we engage with new Canadians as much as we can” says Al Miller who is also a longtime member of 312 Victory.
The Legion will be running the poppy donations until November 11th and encourage Londoners to stop by 312 Victory and show their support for veterans and troops.
