A man has been arrested after trying to flee from police in the north end of London.
Early Thursday morning, police were in the area of Barker Street and Sussex Place where a motorcycle was seen travelling well over the speed limit through a residential area without any lights on.
The cyclist struck a speed bump, ultimately crashing the bike and fleeing from the collision on foot.
He was eventually located and arrested by an LPS Canine officer in the backyard of a nearby home.
Officers determined that the driver was not licensed or insured, and that the motorcycle did not have any plates affixed to it. Tools for breaking and entering were also said to be found on him.
David Charles Roemmele, 37, has been charged with the following:
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
- Possession of break in instruments
- Trespassing at night
- Driving a motor vehicle without a license
- Driving a motor vehicle without insurance
- Driving a motor vehicle without plates.
Roemmele is expected to appear in court on January 4, 2024.
