Original Broadcast: May 26, 2024. The topic is the Dish with One Spoon Treaty. This is a treaty between the Anishinabek and the Haudenosaunee ratified in Montreal in 1701. The symbol of one shared dish with one spoon between the First Nations in the Beaver Hunting Grounds. It signified that the area was to be treated as shared and more than that it symbolized a shared responsibility that the resources were to be maintained for future generations as well. No sharp objects were to be used as someone could get hurt was the other symbol which meant there was to be peace between First Nations in the treaty area.
