The London Knights were defeated in the Memorial Cup against the Saginaw Spirit last night 4-3.
“We had a slow start to the game and kind of found our way back,” says London Knights forward, Jacob Julien who spoke with the Canadian Press. “We would have liked to win but you know, that’s hockey right.”
The Knights had a slow start with Saginaw getting two goals in the first period.
Kasper Halttunen scored the Knights first goal of the game in the second period making the score 3-1 at the end of the 2nd period.
The Knights scored two goals in the 3rd period tying the game. Saginaw Spirit, Josh Bloom broke the tie scoring the winning goal of the game just 22 seconds before the final buzzer.
The London Knights have yet to make a statement following their loss but have posted to X with the final score and a broken heart emoji.
