The Forest City Fusion Art Exhibition is running at the TAP Centre for Creativity on its second edition. It showcases 20 London-based artists from 11 countries.
Attendees shared their thoughts on the event’s cultural impact, highlighting the importance of such gatherings for London’s community, from personal inspiration to a celebration of intercultural exchange.
“I think this was a really interesting event, a really diverse mix of people and all different styles of art on display,” said Laura Gibson. “Lots of interesting things to look at and great to see so many people out. It was cool to see a lot of different styles and mediums.
Meanwhile, Aliona Starostenko expressed: “It’s amazing that London has this venue where we can connect to our backgrounds because there is so much interculturality. I saw many beautiful happy faces experiencing different cultures. Art is part of our society to bring peace. Between our busy lives, if we give ourselves a chance to be more culturally aware, then we have the opportunity to transform emotionally and get inspired to make a more beautiful world.”
106.9 The X spoke to some artists to find out what inspires them: “I have been drawing for almost my whole life (over 15 years in professional work), creating art based on set themes. My technique comes from the heart, and conveys positive emotions. The paintings presented at this exhibition have such a deep meaning of self-discovery and harmony. I love leaving London because when I return, I appreciate it more for its calmness and lack of hustle, and I find many new things in it that inspire me, said Iana Litus, a Ukraine artist.
“I consider myself a textile artist. My art technique is similar to watercolors, keep it fresh and make no mistakes. For this art show I am exhibiting three silk paintings, my artwork is inspired by Gustav Klim’s art. He is one of my favorite artists. I fell in love with his art when I lived in Vienna, Austria. I am inspired by everyday life; I love painting people. Life is beautiful,” said Selma Popovic, an artist from Bosnia.
“My art merges the mystical and the digital through the portrayal of shaman cats, each representing unique spiritual attributes which blend digital painting techniques with profound symbolism inspired by diverse cultural mythologies. I aim to convey messages of healing, unity, and personal growth, encouraging viewers to connect with their deeper selves. The variety of styles showcased here confirms that London is a hub for world-class art,” said Diego Tamayo, a Colombian artist.
The exposition features a variety of mediums and styles, such as sculptures, paintings, acrylics, watercolours, macramé, and digital art, and runs from Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 5 p.m., with free admission.
