The London Police Service opened its doors to the public on Wednesday evening as part of National Police Week, giving families a chance to connect with officers in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The open house ran from 4 to 8 p.m. at police headquarters, and there was something for everyone. Kids jumped around in a bouncy castle, families explored police vehicles, and many took part in guided tours of the station.
The Pipes and Drums unit performed for the crowd, drawing applause and plenty of photos. A barbecue was also set up, offering food for visitors as they enjoyed the sunny evening.
Beyond the fun and games, the event gave people a closer look at the work officers do every day. Displays of police gear and equipment gave insight into different units, while officers chatted with residents throughout the evening.
Organizers say events like this help build stronger relationships between police and the community.
