A person faces charges for operating a cannabis shop named “Chief’s Corner” on Richmond Street without the proper authorities or approval.
The police say that during their search of the establishment, the found an estimated total of $39,000 dollars in cannabis.
Police say the owner was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possessing cannabis for the purpose of sale and possession of illegal cannabis.
The police media release says “Only the purchase of cannabis through the Ontario Cannabis Store or an Ontario-authorized, licensed retail store is legal, The purchase of cannabis products from unauthorized dealers is against the law.”
The person who was charged has been release from custody and is expected to appear in court on September 29th.
