From the creators behind the iconic ‘Rock The Park’, the Jones Entertainment Group (otherwise known as JEG) returns with a sky-high approach to concert venues with their newest venture: Rock The Runway.
In partnership with the London International Airport and Western’s University Students’ Council, the two-day festival is set to be held at the northwest corner runway where it can accommodate approximately 25,000 people a night. Headlining the Runway will be big names such as Noah Kahan, Marshmello, and BBNO$.
Over the course of 21 years, owner and operator, Brad Jones says that annually, there are two artists unable to perform at Rock The Park due to the limited capacity of Harris Park. Therefore, using the airport’s space for Rock The Runway welcomes major artists; allowing for more concert attendees.
“Certainly what we’re standing on is, is that pavement is much better in a lot of cases than, than grass, especially if we get rain; uhm, so that would be an advantage,” says Brad. “I think just, you know, the size of it allows us to do so much more and be that much more creative when you have literally unlimited space out here at the airport.”

Additionally, the festival’s collaboration with Western serves as the university’s “PurpleFest”– a student-organized event held annually to mark the beginning of the school year with proceeds from the event going towards the Children’s Health Foundation; supporting life-changing healthcare for youth all across Southwestern Ontario.
Rock The Runway’s unique twist on traditional concert venues gives a refreshing take on music festivals while also giving back to the community, maintaining fun, and prioritizing safety; an event that is sure to take flight.
