Two Toronto-area men are facing charges after $1,300 worth of laundry detergent was allegedly stolen from a business in Sarnia.
Police say they were called to a store on Quinn Drive around 5:15 p.m. Saturday after a man was seen loading suspected stolen goods into the trunk of an SUV and using a stroller to conceal them.
Officers arrived within minutes and found one man in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. He was arrested at the scene, and police say the stolen merchandise was recovered from the back of the SUV.
Investigators say the man was also found to be wanted on three probation orders from Toronto, Durham Region and York Region.
A second suspect, who was still inside the store, allegedly attempted to walk away when approached by police. Officers say force was used to prevent him from fleeing. He was later identified as a Toronto man who was out on bail at the time.
Both individuals have been charged in connection with the incident.
