On October 7th, 2023, Hamas attacked those at an Israeli music festival and multiple Israeli villages. About 1,200 Israelis were killed, while 251 were taken hostage. Israel’s Gaza incursion in response has razed civilian infrastructure, and the IDF has killed about 67,000 Palestinians.
“We urge all parties to immediately work to turn Hamas’ commitment of releasing all hostages into a reality and to negotiate the terms of peace,” says the PM in an online statement. Officials from Israel, the U.S. and Hamas are currently in Egypt for ceasefire negotiations.

At the end of the statement, he announced that provinces would receive funding to train law enforcement and prosecutors.
