Michael Ray Richardson, former coach of the London Lighting of the National Basketball League of Canada has passed away.
Ray Richardson unfortunately passed away from prostate cancer.
Ray Richardson played in the NBA for 8 seasons and was a four time NBA all-star.
He was a three time NBA steals leader, was a all-defensive team member twice and won the 1985 comeback payer of the year.
Ray Richardson was banned from the NBA in 1986, for repeated violations of the NBA’s drug policy. He battled with addiction.
Ray Richardson became the Lightning’s head coach in 2011 after winning three collegiate titles.
Ray Richardson was name NBL Canada’s coach of the year in 2012 and 2013 after winning two titles.
Ray Richardson was 70 at the time of his passing.
