Beginning May 17, 2026, and through Sept. 13, 2026, WestJet will operate non-stop flights three times weekly between London and Winnipeg on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
London International Airport president and CEO Scott McFadzean said the decision is due to the increasing demand for western Canadian travel, particularly on WestJet’s Calgary route, which expands to twice daily in the summer.
“They saw growing demand on their Calgary flights, so bringing Winnipeg back made a lot of sense,” McFadzean said.
The Flights give travelers more options, not only for visiting family and travelling for business, but also for connecting through Winnipeg to other cities.
McFadzean says the return of the route is part of a much bigger plan to strengthen travel. The airport is in discussions with Canadian and U.S carriers about increasing flight frequency and adding new destinations.
“As the population grows in London and across the region, we want to continue expanding our flight operations,” he said. “We want to give people an alternative so that people don’t have to just rely on Toronto Pearson. It can often be very stressful and busy drive to get there and of course it’s an expensive and complicated airport to navigate.”
The goal is to make London a strong regional airport where travelers can “Start here, Go anywhere.” said McFadzean.
