After a long day of deliberation Nov. 20, London’s budget committee have made amendments to the mayor’s 2026 budget update, slightly lowering the 2026 annual tax levy increase.
The committee started the day with the tax increase sitting at 3.6 per cent, however after some amendments, the increase has been shaved to 3.4 per cent.
City staff say this would now equate to roughly a $130 increase for the average residential taxpayer, compared to $137 originally.
No change was made to the 2027 increase, which sits at 4.7 per cent, or roughly $188.
Council will meet to approve the committee’s amendments Nov. 26.
