London, Ont. police are investigating a smash and grab jewellery store robbery that happened Wednesday night at a north end mall.
“Shortly before 8:30 (p.m.) on Wednesday, Nov. 19th, three males wearing ski masks entered a jewellery store in the area of Richmond Street and Fanshawe Park Road East.” said London police constable Matthew Dawson.
Video on social media shows the robbery, which happened at the Carat Jewellers location in Masonville Place.
“Once inside that business, they brandished hammers and damaged display cases before stealing jewellery from the store and fleeing the area on foot,” Dawson said.
Police said in a media release they attended the area and with the help of a police dog, they found two duffel bags with jewellery and clothing nearby.
Police said they have not located the suspects and the investigation has been reassigned to the street crimes unit.
