The hot streak continues for the Falcons volleyball teams.
After the volleyball teams have defeated both Cambrian and Boreal this past weekend, both teams extend their winning streak.
Women’s Team
The women’s team had a tight game on the 22nd with a 3-2 victory over the Cambrian Golden shield.
They won the first two sets 25-22, and 25-19 before losing the next two sets 25-18 and 25-22 before the Falcons were able to win the crucial 5th and final set 15-9.
Jillian Lancaster led the Falcons with 20 points with Grace McLean not far behind with 16 and Autumn Mikel having 14.
Simone Pinsonneault had 44 assists in the game which was her second most this entire season.
For the Golden Shield, Jersey Masson led the way with 20 points followed by Carlie Pappano with 16 and Camille Barr with 12.
Allison Nordquist led the team with 38 assists which was her second most in a game this season.
Then on the 23rd they were able to sweep the Boreal Vipers 3-0 with the sets being 25-9, 25-9, and 25-21 for the Falcons.
The Falcons had two double digit scorers in the game with Autumn Mikel leading the way with 12 points, followed by Natalie Campbell with 11.
Simone Pinsonneault once again led the team with 22 assists. She has 215 on the season which is the 4th most in the entire OCAA.
Manissa Yessad led the Vipers in points with 7 followed by Michelle Scratch with 6.
And the assist leader for the Vipers was Isabelle Mcphee with 15.
Men’s Team
The men’s team had a very dominant weekend. To start off, they hosted the Cambrian Golden Shield on the 22nd with the final score
being 3-1 for the Falcons.
The Falcons won the first two sets 25-16 and 25-21 before losing a super close 3rd set 25-23. They were able to secure the 4th set 25-18.
The Falcons had 5 different double digit scorers with Tanner Paterson leading the way with 19 points followed by Colin Hutchinson and Jayden Crowther both getting 13 a piece.
Jakob Curtis led the way with 42 assists which was his second most the entire season.
Liam Hansen was the leader for the Golden Shield with 20 points followed by Cale Bast with 13.
Sam George had 36 assists which was the second most for him this season.
Then on the 23rd they were also able to sweep Boreal. The sets were 25-17, 25-22, and 25-18 for the Falcons.
The Falcons had only one double digit scorer this time with Oliver Prentice scoring 14 points.
And there was a tie for the most assists on the team with both Keaton Mizak and Andrew Smith securing 16.
For the Vipers, Hamed Sana led the way with 11 points followed by a 9 point performance by Ashton Giroux.
Jacob Doucette led the way in assists with 20 on the season.
Next Game
Both teams have one final game before the Christmas break with it happening on the 27th against the Humber Hawks.
Humber’s men’s team have started off a little slow with their record being 3-3.
Meanwhile, the women’s team have been red hot with them having a undefeated 7-0 season.
The women’s game starts at 6, with the men’s game at 8 which should definitely be a game you wouldn’t want to miss.
