Canada is mourning the loss of an iconic figure.
Colleen Jones, a two-time world curling champion and six-time national champion, and admired CBC broadcaster, died at age 65 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
From the curling clubs of Halifax to the world stage, Jones built a legacy that few can rival.
At just 22, she won her first national title. She led her rink to four consecutive Scotties Tournament of Hearts from 2001 to 2004-and captured world crowns in 2001 and 2004.
When her broom was down, her mic was up. Over nearly four decades with CBC, she became one of the most respected voices in Canadian sport bringing warmth, wit and wisdom to curling broadcasts and beyond.
Her death leaves a void in curling and Canadian sports media alike but her influence will echo in every rink, every broadcast, and in the memory of every fan.
