Seasons retirement community here in London wrapped up its Christmas craft market. The market had a total of 13 different vendors with so many different items being available ranging from knitted items to baked goods.
Manager at Seasons retirement community in London Mackenzie Umbelina says the main reason seasons decided to host the event was because “it’s so important to bring vendors to the residence so that they don’t have to go out and get the Christmas presents.”
It is also super special that this event is going on as 13 local vendors were selling all sorts of things from stocking stuffers, to handcrafted items, to even baked goods.
Some vendors don’t usually come out to events because they have retail shops but decided to come out to interact with the residents. “I really enjoy events like this because you get to actually interact with people while they’re at their home.” says Genevieve Kroeker from Seed Confections in St Thomas.
Some vendors came out through word of mouth. “We actually met somebody at a fair who said why don’t you come over to this event?” says Jade Ridout from Crafty Celestial.
Although the event felt special to vendors, it was even more special for residents who live at Seasons.
Resident Evelina says “I think it’s beautiful because a lot of the people who live in this home no longer have cars. And it’s hard for them to get out and see all the things that are out there if they wanted to get something so having them come here and so many different people. It’s good for us to enjoy some of that as well.”
The event was a success with it being packed from the start of the event right until the very end with there being tons of residents and even guests coming out to support local businesses.
