A tow truck operator was killed Wednesday morning after being struck on Highway 401 while helping a stranded motorist
Emergency crews were called to the westbound lanes near Oxford Road 3 in Blandford Blenheim at about 7:15 a.m.
When they arrived, they found the operator had been hit by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.
The man was pronounced dead where he was found.
All lanes of Highway 401 between Cedar Creek Road and Oxford Road 29 are now open, after they were closed for an extended period of time.
