Six people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash in Malahide township early Thursday morning.
Elgin OPP, along with firefighters and paramedics responded to a three-vehicle crash involving a minivan and two sedans on Imperial Road between College Line and Ron McNeil Line, just outside of Aylmer Jan. 22.
Police say one of the vehicles struck three pedestrians who were helping someone who was stuck in the ditch.
As a result, six people were taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The roads were closed for the investigation but according to police, have since been re-opened.
“Slow down, stay alert and stay in control,” said Constable Jeff Beaumaster in a statement.
“These simple steps will go a long way in reducing the number of winter weather-related collisions on our roads.”
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
