Mickey Lolich, who was the last MLB pitcher to have three complete game victories passed away at 85 years old.
The Detroit Tigers said Lolich’s wife told them that he died after a short stay in hospice care.
Lolich’s impact on the Tigers will not be forgotten, he was the Most Valuable Player of the 1968 series against the St. Louis Cardinals as he finished off the series having a 1.67 ERA and had a game 7 road victory over the Cardinals.
The left hander had a 25-14 record in 1971 which seen him finish second in the American League Cy Young award voting.
Lolich had a career record of 220-192 which included the postseason over a 16 year career.
