Leaders of two organizations representing Ontario’s colleges and universities are reacting positively to the province’s move to add billions in new funding to post-secondary institutions.
President and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities Steve Orsini said the new investment strengthens the foundation the university provides, and strengthens sustainability and long-term planning to support students and communities.
Meanwhile, the president and CEO of Colleges Ontario Maureen Adamson said the funding expands local opportunities for both learners and employers.
The province’s move also lifts a seven-year tuition fee freeze and reduces student assistance grants.
