London is getting another trendy restaurant.
Famous for drawing long line-ups, Dave’s Hot Chicken is set to opening in front of Westmount Mall. The storefront looks ready, but the chain hasn’t announced an opening date.
Dave’s is one of many trendy food chains to hit London in recent months. In January, Wingstop opened in Masonville and burger chain Rudy opened at White Oaks Mall. Some social media accounts have been reporting for a Crumbl Cookie to open near Oxford and Wonderland streets.
Launched by four childhood friends in 2017 in Los Angeles, Dave’s Hot Chicken has a simple concept: make Nashville Hot Chicken better than anyone else in America.
Four years later, Canada opened it’s first Dave’s Hot Chicken in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood.
Now, Canada has 15 locations with 11 in Ontario — five in Toronto.
The closest Dave’s Hot Chicken to London is located at 2960 Kingsway Drive in Kitchener.
Dave’s Hot Chicken, however, has gotten mixed reviews as many say the menu is “overpriced” and the chicken is “alright.”
Reddit user @darksideoflondon says “I travelled to one of these outside Toronto recently. It was mid tier at best. Tenders were, decent, fries were meh, the drink was the best part of the meal.”
