Dozens of firefighters responded to a blaze that tore through an east London home Tuesday morning.
Nobody was injured in the fire, which broke out at the rear of the home on Boullee and Cheapside streets just after 8 a.m., said Platoon Chief Gary Mosburger.
“Luckily enough, smoke alarms within the property was giving the people enough time to get out,” Mosburger said, adding the cause was under investigation.
The first truck arrived within four minutes of dispatch and crews were met with heavy fire conditions, said Mosburger.
“They deployed hose lines, search and rescue operations and suppressed the fire fairly quickly,” Mosburger said.
Although firefighters put out the fire quickly, the fire did get up into the structure itself.
Mosburger said the chief on scene called for additional resources, including an aerial ladder truck to get better access to the roof.
