St. Patrick’s Day celebrations started three days early this year, and they are expected to continue Tuesday.
We had a very busy weekend,” said Joe Kool’s general manager Cris Cervoni. “Lined up early, and we stayed lined up all night.”
The bars are expected to fill up once again on the night of St. Patrick’s Day, and Cervoni said staff is prepared for the crowd.
And so are London Police, said media relations officer, Sgt. Sandasha Bough.
“Our top priority is the safety of our community,” said Bough, in an email response to XFM.
“We will have plans in place with respect to larger gatherings and we will have a highly visible presence in key areas of the city during any unsanctioned, illegal gatherings, in order to ensure public safety. We will be monitoring events and will respond accordingly.”
Police say that for safety, partiers should be aware of police presence at gatherings in the city.
“If officers start to try to clear people out of an area, it is critical that everyone listen and follow directions,” said Bough.
