London Police responded Sunday to a crash on Wellington Road with a 23-year-old woman facing nine charges.
LPS responded to a crash just after midnight on Wellington Road between Commissioners and Southdale.
Police reported a black Chevrolet Tahoe travelling at high speeds which hit two vehicles, a telephone pole and finally a business sign.
London Fire Department helped remove the suspect female driver and an adult female passenger from the Chevrolet Tahoe.
Paramedic Services transported the two females to hospital. the driver with minor injuries and the passenger with life-threatening injuries.
During transport, the suspected driver assaulted paramedics and police. When they arrived at the hospital, a nurse was also assaulted.
The suspected female driver was reported as Aaliyah Mackenzie Elijah, a 23-year-old from London.
She has been charged with the following nine charges:
- Dangerous operation/bodily harm;
- Dangerous operation;
- Impaired;
- Impaired bodily harm;
- Mischief under $5000;
- Fail to stop at scene of accident;
- Fail to comply with a release order;
- Assault a peace officer; and,
- Three (3) counts of assault.
London police are investigating the incident.
Elijah remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the London courthouse tomorrow.
