The NFL continued to stun with yet another fantastic week of Football action. Teams took command of divisions, and teams lost control of playoff spots. Every win matters as we move towards the Playoffs with a month left. So what teams won and what teams lost? These are five takeaways from Week 13 of the NFL Season.
Lions Finally Win!
The Detroit Lions have finally won a game this NFL Season. The Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings in a close game to avoid a winless season. Due to this loss, the Vikings now have a meager chance of making the playoffs. It still could happen, but they will need some help. The Lions are eliminated from playoff contention, but they won’t finish the year winless. They are still expected to receive the first overall pick in this year’s draft because the chances of them getting another win are low.

Patriots are the AFC Kings
Tell me if you have heard this one before. The New England Patriots are the Kings of the AFC now. After defeating the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, they lead all other teams in the conference standings. The Bills and Patriots played against each other and the elements. The wind made it nearly impossible to kick field goals. The wind also made for some hilarious plays where punts that would go far only made it about 15 yards. Rookie Quarterback Mac Jones only had to throw three passes because passing was tough like kicking. However, the Patriots’ run game carried them to victory, and now they are on a seven-game win streak.
Last night's win puts Patriots at the top of the AFC.

Cardinals continue to be NFL’s Best Team
The Arizona Cardinals continued their trek of the NFL, remaining the top team. The Cardinals are now the first team to make it to 10 wins this season. Arizona did not struggle this week, with the Bears beating them by 11 points. This has been a consistent story throughout the season as the Cardinals have, time after time, dominated teams. This will be interesting to follow as usually the top team in the NFL does not perform the best in the playoffs. However, the Cardinals will have a first-round bye in the Playoffs if they can maintain the conference lead. The Cardinals play the Rams next week on Monday Night Football.

Chiefs take command of AFC West
The Kansas City Chiefs have taken command of the AFC West. After a week where each team in the AFC West was within a game of each other, the Chiefs now remain at the top of the AFC West. Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has continued to be consistent this year. But the real MVP of the team this week was the defense that kept the Broncos Offense down. Unfortunately, it does not get easier for the Chiefs as they continue to play their division rivals. The Raiders are up next, and then they face the Chargers. If the Chiefs were to lose both games, they would lose control of the division again.

Colts are one win away from AFC South comeback
The Indianapolis Colts have almost completed the AFC South comeback, trying to push for the playoffs. This is miraculous after the team had a terrible start to the season. Since that start, Colts Quarterback Carson Wentz has led the team back into the running for the AFC South. The Titans, who had a significant lead in the division, have fallen apart since losing their star, Running Back Derrick Henry. This opened the door for the Colts to take control. The Colts would take the division lead with a win in their next game against the Patriots.
Win 🙂
Road Win 😃
