After a number of car break-ins around the Forest City, one London paramedic is being praised for his hard work in helping to apprehend a car thief.
Police were called when a woman spotted an unknown male leaving her driveway near Highbury Ave. and Fanshawe Park Road East. The woman alerted her husband, who is a London paramedic, who has requested his name not be released in the story. The paramedic got into their car and pursued the man. He later reported the male to police, who found him with stolen property and break-and-enter tools. He was arrested and charged.
Media relief officer, Constable Ricardo Juliao, says that the community plays an important role when they dial 911.
“If you do see anything, just call 911 and we’ll go out there and we’ll look into it and often times arrests like this are made.”
The suspect denied he was trying to enter any vehicles, but claimed he was just looking through recycling bins.
London Police would like to express their thanks to the paramedic for his heroic actions.
