A Sarnia man is currently in custody connected to a sexual assault investigation. According to police, a young girl was groped outside a high school.
Police say that they received a call on Sept. 15, saying that there was a man lingering outside a high school. Police are withholding the name of the high school to protect the victim.
“Although this investigation has only involved a single school, police do not want to eliminate the possibility of other schools that may have been involved,” read a statement from police.
Allegedly the man starting approaching girls outside the school, trying to talk about drugs and alcohol. It’s reported he also asked them to pose for photos.
Police say the man started following the girls leaving the school, and ended up groping one of the girls.
The student notified the school, and police were contacted.
51-year-old Jagjit Singh was arrested and charged with sexual interference and sexual assault. He was brought into custody after a bail hearing.
