‘ThatVintageMarket’ returns to Dundas Place with over 30 vendors and live hip-hop performances.
Daelyn Carroll who owns vintage clothing store ‘Aged Ideology’ and is one of the organizers of the market says that they ensure accessibility for local vendors.
“We try wherever possible to have local vendors. So London and surrounding area is given priority. We keep our vendor fees as low as possible. We’re not really making much of a profit on the market,” she says. “We just want to create a safe space for the London community to kind of come together and work.”
Although the market has a focus on curated vintage clothing, vendors like TashasArtFusion who specialize in handmade jewelry are given a space as well.
Jess Braga who also owns a vintage clothing store ‘The Spot Marked X’ and is an organizer of the market adds that they do provide priority for handmade vendors alongside curated vintage clothing.
“We also try to give priority to handmade vendors. So you’ll see at our markets even tonight, these bucket hats, all that type of stuff,” she says. “And then I think another criteria we also look for is like good vibes and so if a vendor has like, if we know that they have like good vibes and good energy and that they’re like, for example, like supportive of different like groups and missions, that for us is really important because we want everyone at the market to be, to feel safe.”
ThatVintageMarket starts at 5PM running until 10PM.
