Ontario Premier Doug Ford says the province will pause its anti-tariff television ad campaign in the United States on Monday to allow Canada-U.S. trade talks to resume.
The announcement comes after President Donald Trump ended negotiations in response to the ads, which are still set to air during the first two World Series games in the U.S.
The Ontario government reportedly spent about 75 million dollars to run the ads across several American TV networks, featuring Reagan’s words and image.
Ford says Canada and the U.S. remain allies and that Reagan understood both countries are stronger together.
