Nov. 3 marks the start of Crime Prevention Week and the London Police Service are holding drop-in’s at Masonville Mall and White Oaks Mall.
The Drop-in’s will be going on until Nov. 7, these are open to the public to give everyone the opportunity to ask officers questions they may have about Crime Prevention Week. The times they will be held at can be found on the London Police Service website.
Michelle Romano, Staff Sgt. community policing section says that the main point of crime prevention week is to inform the public about how to keep their communities safe.
“I strongly encourage everyone to report crimes as minor as it is, even if there maybe no investigative details they can go on our website and report the crime and then we’re able to track it.” Says Romano.
Another program the L.P.S is encouraging is called ‘Cam Safe,’ it’s a registry that you can sign up for on the London Police Service website. This lets the force know that you have a camera on your property and they can contact you for any investigative footage you may have of crimes in your area.
“If you’re reporting a non-emergency call 519-661-5670 or if it’s an emergency call 911.” Says Romano.
In a release sent by the London Police Service it says “In addition to the drop-in visits listed above, we also have a virtual Crime Prevention Session planned. You will hear from the London Police Service’s Crime Prevention Unit, as they share information about things you can do to help protect yourself from crime, including how to report a crime. There will be opportunities to chat with them and ask any questions you may have.”
The virtual meeting will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, at 11 a.m.
