The MERRY MARKET is back at 100 Kellogg Lane.
This is the sixth season of the market, and it is the largest free holiday market in London.
The market has a variety of photo zones, including a 35ft Kellogg themed tree, with numerous shops, Merry Market’s own special activities and so on.
Previously, it was just the Merry Market, which was shopping, small businesses and local vendors.
However, it expands throughout the site-wide and is called “Merry Ment.”
The new name “Merry Ment” means laughter and joy, and organizers hope visitors will feel joy and happiness here.
“So now it includes the Merry Market, so we still have our vendors. As well as the factory is now Whoville and the slime lab is Grinch’s Lab now. And then we have Paradigm, which is a distillery and they’re doing an Apres Chalet ski lounge,” said Emily Barnes, the special events coordinator.
“We have Santa’s Enchanted Elevator coming next week, which will be really, really fun. And we’re excited to show that to our guests. As well as all of our shops that are here, all of our restaurants that are here.”
Barnes explained what has changed in this year’s event.
“A change is this year we’ve become a bit more focused on bringing different experiences here,” said Barnes.
“So the Santa’s Elevator, the Whoville, the Slime Lab, all of those things are very experience based.”
Victoria Rodriguez, one of the visitors, said what she liked the most about the market.
“I think my favorite one is Balboni Donuts. That one is very popular. I see a lot of people walk out with their famous blue box. So, I feel like that one is always a popular one every year.”
This Merry Ment goes beyond just being a marketplace and holds special significance for the London community.
It has become a place for families and friends to come together to make memories, support local small businesses, and spread holiday magic throughout the city.
“We hope you come and have the best time ever. And have happy holidays. And spend time with the ones that you love,” said Barnes.
The market has been extended to the fourth weekend for the first time, and will be open until December 21st.
