The federal government has awarded a nearly $9.5 million contract to a construction company in hopes of revitalizing Rouge National Urban Park.
The national park and beach spans across more than 79 square kilometers across parts of Toronto, Markham, Uxbridge, and Pickering.
Alongside ecological restoration, there are also plans of building a new 2.3-kilometre trail to connect Rouge Beach and Mast Trail, a permanent washroom building, improved parking at the upper beach area, and a plan to remove the lower beach parking lot and restoring it to nature.
