A fatal stabbing in the city’s downtown core that occurred on the night of Monday, Jan. 13 has been confirmed as London’s first homicide of 2026.
Police say officers were called to the 700-block of Dundas Street at about 10:35 p.m. after getting multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a stabbing in the area.
When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in a hallway inside an apartment building. Officers provided emergency care until paramedics arrived.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died. His identity has not been released, and police have not said whether next of kin have been notified.
Investigators with the police service’s Major Crime Section are leading the investigation, which remains in its early stages.
Police are asking anyone who was around the 700-block of Dundas Street between 10:15 and 10:45 p.m. on Monday to come forward if they witnessed anything unusual.
Investigators are particularly interested in video evidence, including dash-cam footage, cellphone videos, or surveillance footage from nearby homes or businesses that may have captured activity before or after the stabbing.
