The Men’s And Women’s basketball teams both beat Redeemer by double digits.
The Men’s and Women’s volleyball teams both beat Sheridan in straight sets with the final scores being 3-0.
Players and Coaches from all four teams weighed in and
gave their thoughts after some good wins.
Karyn Tebrake, a guard for the Fanshawe Women’s Basketball team said that making threes was very crucial in the win.
“The last few games we’ve really struggled from the three, and they played zone the whole game, so we weren’t really able to attack the pain and get those shots that we normally like to get.”
Assistant Coach Katelyn Carriere says that the team’s defense is a integral part of their identity.
“We really emphasized it in practice and game time. So it was really a focus for the second-half, especially. We think that we did a good job disrupting them a lot more in the second-half compared to the first, so we were happy with the girls’ effort there.”
The Men’s basketball team beat Redeemer 83-69 in their game and players gave their thoughts post-game.
Brandon Bogart, a guard on the Men’s team says that defense turns into confidence.
“The more stops you get, the more confidence you get for offense. We played really hard today. We talked. There’s some more things that we need to work on throughout this week to get ready for Friday.”
Caleb Labelle, a forward on the men’s team says that this last road game before a road trip was great for the team.
“We know what we can do. We know what we’re capable of whenever we’re all on the same page and we’re all working together. It helps us out a lot. Gives us energy for sure.”
Fanshawe’s volleyball teams were dominant winning both games against Sheridan 3-0.
Players and the men’s coach weighed in post-game.
Jillian Lancaster talks about her expectations for the rest of the season.
“We’re locking in at practice and we’re working as hard as we possibly can to make sure that the last couple of games go how we are hoping and we’re hoping to get a good spot in playoffs here.”
The Men’s team also won 3-0 against Sheridan and their coach Patrick Johnston talks about what they need to accomplish during this upcoming road trip.
“Sudbury’s a big one. It’s our longest road trip and Cambrian’s the team we’re chasing, so we’re going to need to play better defense even than tonight because Cambrian’s a heck of a lot stronger than the squad we played tonight.”
Fanshawe’s Men’s and Women’s volleyball teams will be on the road for two games before ending their regular seasons at home on Sat. Feb. 7. against Mohawk.
Fanshawe’s Men’s and Women’s basketball teams will be on the road for two games as well before coming home to play Mohawk on Wed. Feb. 11. before ending their regular season on the road against Niagara.
