London police are maintaining their presence at a home near Western university where chemicals with the possibility of making explosives were found.
They say on social media them and partner agencies are removing equipment from the scene on Chesham Avenue and Chesham Place.
Police will stay in the area, for an undetermined time, to continue the investigation.
The roads in the area have reopened, including:
- Chesham Avenue at Castlegrove Boulevard
- Citation Drive at Eastcastle Place
- Citation Drive at Chesham Avenue
- Chesham Place at Chesham Avenue
The investigation started Jan. 27, with a trespassing incident at Western University.
The investigation led them to a nearby house on the corner of Chesham Avenue and Chesham Place, where chemicals with potential to make a bomb were stolen. Four people in their twenties have been charged and remain in custody.
Additional charges have been laid. Jerry Tong, 27, of Ottawa, and Zekun Wang, 26, of London, have been charged with one count of unlawful possession of explosives.
The investigation is ongoing, and the London police will provide information as it becomes available.
