A new English-as-a-second-language school is coming to London.
The London Ontario English Academy is starting classes Feb. 9, where students of all ages can get together and learn.
“I’m hoping this is a chance for people to come together,” said program designer, Dr. Laura Hogarth. “We’ve had several people come in… and they want to meet other people in the community.”
Aside from learning English, students at the English academy will have opportunities for things like barbeques, movie nights, and trips to places like Canada’s Wonderland, Hogarth said.
Hogarth started the school after she founded an English school in Japan and found a passion for teaching. She was an instructor at Canada Club Japan for four years, and Osaka University for three years.
“I’ve decided to reopen a school that I had in Japan… I see a need to help bring the community together.”
The school is located at 1742 Hyde Park Road, sharing a building with ‘Spark-Techies’.
