Office of London West MPP Peggy Sattler was vandalized Sunday overnight with broken glass and windows.
A post Sunday afternoon on Peggy Sattler’s Facebook page announced the closure of the office.
In the post, Sattler says herself and staff are “shaken” from the incident.
“While I understand people’s anger and frustration with government, this kind of violence is never an acceptable way to make a political statement,” Sattler continued. “The staff who work for elected representatives deserve a safe workplace, and it is important that members of the community feel welcomed and safe at my office as well.”
The office of the New Democratic party MPP is located on 240 Commissioners Rd. W. and will have intermittent closures for the office while being repaired. If an in-person appointment is needed, Sattler says to call 519-657-3120 or email psattler-co@ndp.on.ca.
Executive assistant to Peggy Sattler, Amanda Stratton, said in a statement that there was no other damages and nothing from the office was taken.
The London Police Service is still investigating the incident.
