Three people have been charged after a fight at the CF Masonville Place food court Friday night, London police say.
Police say officers were called to the CF Masonville Place food court around 8 p.m. on March 27 following reports of a disturbance.
Investigators say the altercation began when a man pushed a woman to the ground and struck her in the face.
Two bystanders who attempted to intervene were also assaulted. Police say one bystander was threatened, while the other was physically assaulted.
Police say a second person kicked one of the bystanders, while a third person shoved one of the victims.
Connor William Lin, 20, of London, is charged with three counts of assault, making threats of death or bodily harm and obstruction of a peace officer.
Cortney Bagyan, 21, of London, is charged with assault and accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence.
A 16-year-old London girl, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is also charged with assault.
Police say the accused and the alleged victims did not know each other.
One person suffered minor injuries. Two others were not injured.
Sandra Lorentiu, general manager of retail operations at CF Masonville Place, said the mall is cooperating with police.
“The safety and security of our guests and personnel remain our highest priority and we are fully cooperating with London Police Service as they conduct their ongoing investigation,” she said. “Given this is now part of an ongoing investigation, we defer all questions to LPS.
