A long-running fundraiser supporting people affected by HIV and AIDS is returning to London this month.
A Taste for Life, now in its 22nd year, asks people to dine at one of 15 participating restaurants, knowing part of their dinner bill will help others in London.
On Wednesday, April 15, each of those restaurants will donate 25 per cent of proceeds to the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection (RHAC), which provides support and education to people living with HIV/AIDS in the London area.
“We support some of the most marginalized people in the community, and this event helps fund programs that are very beneficial for them,” said event coordinator Steph Monaghan.
RHAC programs include crisis support, counselling, practical assistance, transportation, support groups, education, financial aid, and referrals.
Taste for Life volunteers at the 15 restaurants will share information about RHAC and answer questions. Diners can make additional donations through cash, QR codes, or online platforms.
Monaghan says the event continues to play an important role in supporting people affected or living with HIV and AIDS.
Organizers say the fundraiser has received strong community support over the years and remains an important way to raise awareness and funding for local services.
