One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a campus bar at Lambton College in Sarnia early Friday morning.
Police say officers were called to the scene, where three people were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Investigators say the shooting appears to be targeted and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
The incident prompted a heavy police presence on campus as authorities secured the area. Police have not released information about any suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
The victim killed was identified as 20-year-old Dane Nisbet, a former player for the Mooretown Flags Junior Hockey team.
Fanshawe College says it is “shocked and saddened” by the incident and is offering support to students and staff.
Counselling and grief support are available to students through Counselling and Accessibility Services, while employees can access assistance through the Employee Assistance Program.
